Gary Short is Managing Director of Shorts Group.
Over 20 years ago his love of agriculture encouraged him to set-up Shorts Agricultural, providing contracting services to farms in and around the Home Counties.
His father created the business in 1957, as a timber company felling trees for the construction of the M1 motorway and expanded to offer a full demolition service which is still part of the Group.
Gary has introduced Shorts Group to new areas, many of which complement one another. So skip hire, trade waste and demolition meet recycling, which also links in with green waste and composting. Plant hire is another construction-related business and acquisitions over time have enabled a property business to flourish.
Ably helped by a strong team, Gary still works on a daily basis with Shorts and thoroughly enjoys the people and businesses it brings him into contact with.
